BoardVitals for WCC Users

Available in BoardVitals to WCC users for creating a wide variety of customized practice exams are seven Question Banks:

  • AART Radiography
  • CST Mock Exam
  • NBDHE
  • NCLEX-PN
  • NCLEX-RN
  • Surgical Technologist
  • Surgical Technology

Faculty may create a customized practice exam to take immediately, or save to complete later, as a timed exam or not, and may also email the exam to a group of students for them to take.

Please Note: The "Expires" date listed with a Question Bank refers only to the BoardVitals subscription period end-date, after which the North Carolina Community College System Office will renew the resource for another year.

Use BoardVitals Question Bank to Create/Take a Practice Exam

BoardVitals

  • Login using your WCC Email Username followed by:
    • The Password you chose for yourself as a WCC Student (students must Register first using a WCC Email Address)
    • Or, the Password provided for you as a WCC Faculty member by BoardVitals
  • WCC Faculty:  If you don't have a faculty account set up for you yet:
    • Send an email request to wcc-library@waynecc.edu, including your Name and WCC Email Address
    • A librarian will email the login back to you when it is made available

  • Register the first time you access your BoardVitals Account

  • In the email that will be sent to your WCC Email Address click to accept the Question Banks that are available to you as a WCC User

  • Either select from Available Question Banks and click the Trial button to take a pre-designed practice exam
  • Or Select from My Question Banks the exam area you wish to access:
    • Click the Go Button

  • Customize your Exam:
    • Review the list of Subjects, noting the number of questions given in parentheses after the category name as available for your exam from that subject category and:
      • Either click inside the checkbox beside one Subject or a combination of several of them
      • Or, click the Select All button at the bottom of the list
    • For Exam Type open the drop-down menu and click the radio button for either Review or a Timed exam
    •  the exam area you wish to access
    • For Question Order open the drop-down menu and click the radio button for Random or By Rating
    • Enter the number of questions you would like to appear on the Exam in the box provided
  • Click the Create Exam button to save your customized exam

 

 

  • Click the Question number on the left of the screen, then inside a radio button to the right of the question itself to select your answer
  • A Status: Correct green bar will appear for a correct answer (a Status: Incorrect red bar for a wrong answer)
  • Click the Show Explanation button below the question for more clarification of the Status
  • NOTE:  By "taking" the exam yourself you can evaluate the questions for later inclusion in a customized exam you can email as an Assignment to a group of your students.  To do this use options:
    • Flag this question for later
    • Rate this question
  • The Next button at the top will take you to the next question, or you may click a question number on the left side of the screen
  • The Pause and Resume Later button at the top of the screen will allow you to stop the exam and finish it later, even after logging out and logging back in another day

 

BoardVitals for Faculty: Email Practice Exam Assignment to Students

With a BoardVitals Faculty Administration Account, an instructor may:

  • Create a practice exam using the Question Banks
  • Save the new Exam
  • Email the practice Exam as an Assignment to students, individually or as a group
